Our History,
Joel and Kristi Camann moved to the Houston area in May of 2001. Kristi's passion for horses and her horse, Buck,
led them to purchase the 5 acre ranch. With a lot of work, luck and love the ranch went from fixer- upper to the perfect place
for our business. So, the name "The Lucky Heart Ranch was born"!
Kristi has been teaching and working with horses for over 10 years. Kristi is a native of Staunton, VA. She graduated
from James Madison University in 2001 with a BS in Geography. Kristi was a 3rd grade teacher for the HISD school district's
Wildlife Discovery Magnet Program at the Houston Zoo. She was a Catrographer for NAVTEQ and is currently persuing
her teaching certificate in Special Education and ESL Early Childhood education. Kristi's passion for animals and children
show in her workshops and lessons. Kristi and Joel have 2 children, Dora and Joey.

Dear Parents,
To see a child passionate about horses ride for the first time is truly an
amazing experince! It is my dream to give every child who wants to ride a horse the opportunity. There is something special
about an old horse. They have a wisdom and kindness in their eyes that touches our hearts. Many times older
horses are no longer able to perform the way they once did in their younger years. Sadly, many owners consider them
useless. I believe that these gentle creatures deserve a second chance at life. Through Remington Acres, a local
horse rescue and rehabilitation organization we have been blessed to come across several wonderful horses for our program.
It is magical to watch our older horses display a sense of joy and happiness when they are teaching children to ride. It
is my pleasure to be able to share our gifted horses with each of your children.
Sincerely,
Kristi
